As the business of Morinaga Milk Group is founded on food, the availability of
agricultural raw materials and water resources, changes in customers' preferences, impacts on production
and distribution from typhoons and other weather disasters, tightening of regulations, climate change,
and other changes in the environment may impact our business activities.
We revised our
Environmental Policy in 2022, clarifying that we will undertake mitigation of and adaptation to
environmental issues with the aim of reducing the mutual impacts between business activities and the
environment, and clearly naming climate change as a concrete environmental issue.
Morinaga Milk
endorsed the TCFD recommendations in March 2021, and has been working toward them.
We will
continue working to address climate change and will disclose related information.
For facilities such as wastewater treatment plants and boilers that could cause environmental pollution, the Morinaga Milk Group has compiled all legal requirements for each facility into a checklist to confirm that regulatory requirements are met. Moreover, these laws and regulations are checked once a year for revisions. A system for smoothly obtaining the necessary information through industry organizations was also established.
Morinaga Milk Group has acquired ISO14001:2015 multi-site certification at its head office laboratory, plants, and Group companies. ISO14001 certified business sites account for 100%※ of sites that manufacture food products for Morinaga Milk and affiliated companies.

ISO14001: 2015-certified business sites (as of March 31,2026)
Scope of certification:
Manufacture, research, development, and sales of milk, milk products, ice cream, beverages, and other
food products
The Morinaga Milk Group evaluates the magnitude of environmental impacts from its
business activities as well as the risks and opportunities to its business activities from environmental
changes such as global warming; KPIs are established as environmental goals.
These initiatives
are incorporated into the targets for each business site, with progress managed on a monthly basis using
an “implementation table.”
The Morinaga Milk Group provides environmental education for all employees.
Based on the ISO 14001 standard, we conduct systematic environmental education categorized into "awareness education" and "competency training".
In awareness education, we use company-wide e-learning that covers not only employees at ISO 14001-certified sites but also non-certified locations, to improve knowledge and awareness regarding the environment. At ISO 14001-certified sites, we also implement initiatives such as site-level training sessions.
Competency training is implemented to enable employees engaged in environment-related operations to maintain and improve the knowledge and skills required to perform their duties. We also actively encourage employees to obtain professional qualifications and attend external training.
Through internal audits, Morinaga Milk confirms whether it is implementing matters such as initiatives toward its environmental goals, compliance with environmental laws, and environmental education in an appropriate manner. There are two types of internal audits: those carried out at a business site by internal auditors employed at that site, and general internal audits by auditors from other sites.
In FY2024, a seminar for Level 3 certification was conducted and 100 employees completed it; for training for lead internal auditors, 49 employees participated. The total number of certified employees across Levels 1 to 4 was 2,890.
In FY2024, we conducted general internal audits at seven business sites, carried out by auditors from other business locations.
Environmental management system certification is outsourced to an external auditing organization, with an annual check done for adherence to ISO 14001 multi-site certification.
